Looking For A Quality Hairpiece? Make Sure You Check For These Features

Blog

Hair loss is a big deal that you may be willing to do a lot of things to contend with. However, if you are like a lot of guys, surgery is simply out of the question at the moment. The next best solution for hair loss that does not require surgery is a quality hair piece to use as a replacement. While there are a lot of incredibly fitting and high-quality hair replacement pieces out there, some will leave you with less than appealing results, with a hairpiece that either looks unnatural or won't stay in place. Here are a few of the features you should be looking for in a quality hairpiece.

Look for a piece that is crafted from quality human hair.

Synthetic hair can look a lot like real human hair when you initially obtain your hairpiece, but it will not take long for these designs to show the pitfalls of synthetics in comparison to human hair. For example, after washing and styling the hair repeatedly, the strands can look dull and frayed. The highest quality designs are crafted from real human hair, which allows you to maintain and style the hairpiece just as you do your normal hair.

Go for hairpieces that do not damage your normal hair during application.

Hairpieces are applied in all kinds of ways. A few examples of the usual application processes for a hairpiece include:

  • bonding the hairpiece to your scalp with medical-grade glue
  • weaving the hairpiece into your natural hair
  • clipping the hairpiece in place with almost invisible clips

If your hair surrounding the balding area is thin and fragile, some of the more aggressive bonding techniques will not be a good idea, as the processes can damage the natural hair you have left, causing it to break or fall out. Find a hairpiece that is easy to apply and does not cause a lot of damage, especially if you have concerns about losing more hair.

Find a hairpiece that is lightweight in design.

It may just be a small patch of hair with a polymer base, but even just this can cause extreme discomfort through the day if the hairpiece is not quality and lightweight in its design. The last thing you want is a hairpiece that makes you feel like you have something foreign atop your head or makes you sweat because it is too heavy and thick.

A Healthy Diet is Important for Healthy Skin and Hair

I was blessed with healthy, thick hair and perfect skin as a young girl. I went to college out-of-state, and I soon started to get acne and my hair started thinning. Everyone told me that it was likely due to stress, but to be honest, I loved college and found most of my first-year classes pretty easy. During my first summer home I put two-and-two together: my eating habits changed drastically at college. My mother always fed us very healthy meals, and my eating habits at college were so bad that I even ate cookies for breakfast sometimes! I found out my hair loss was due to lack of healthy vitamins in my diet and my skin problems were also caused by my poor diet. I created this blog to help other learn how their health, skin, and are all connected, and I hope you can learn a lot here!
